Allstate lie & deny on roof damage

We were in a 94 mph windsgtorm in Coweta, ok on July 14,2016. Called our agent & he said have roof co.

look at it. We called Turner & A-Best roof in Tulsa, OK. They both said extensive wind damage & to call Allstate. They sent their adjuster that said it was denyed due to over nail.

Now they approved our roof for insurance to begin with. Our agent called another adjuster (Tom Baldwin , CAT team). He was arguing with roof co. & wouldn't listen to him.

Sections of our shingles would lift & hang on only by top nail. We hired a public adjuster and was getting no where till he told Allstate he was going to next level. Lawsuit!! They agreed to replace roof and we are running from Allstate as fast as we can.

I hope others hire Public Adjuster or better yet Bad Faith Lawyer. By the way, the second adjuster passed 4 different roof companies replacing entire roofs on my dead end road and drove by full grown trees uprooted all down my street. I have pictures & documents of entire event. 9 homes had roofs replaced completely & many with other damages.

This is one crooked company. Beware of their good hands commercial. Do their adjusters get bonuses for denial on large claims?

Everyone not paid by Allstate saw extensive wind damage. I am sending all copies to many journalists in U.S. I kept all paper from beginning where Allstate said no sign of wind damage to end where they admitted a complete loss due to wind damage.

I think I can answer your statements on whether adjusters get a bonus for not paying a claim and they do not.

However, if an adjuster is not following guidelines outlined by the insurance company they are working for, they may not have a job come review time.

I have not seen pictures of your roof, but I have looked at hundreds and perhaps thousands of roofs like yours, both as a roofer and then an adjuster.

My guess is that your roof did have some installation problems including improper nailing and possibly lesser quality shingles that contributed to the damage, hopefully you will be wise enough to get a better quality shingle (some shingles are much more wind and hail resistant than others) and get your roofer to hand nail your roof installation, in which your roof was not before.

*** Allstate, does have a reputation for not wanting to pay adequately for wind damage repairs, but most insurance companies are like this and unfortunately homeowners like you do not have many alternatives to turn to, except pay someone part of your claim money to fight for you. It would be helpful for other homeowners and perhaps even you in the future to address this issue and write the Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner who is suppose to oversee insurance companies for the consumers behalf, but does not do a very good job doing so...

Allstate approved roof 2 1/2 years prior. This was a cyclonic windstorm and did extensive damage all down my dead end road.

Neighbor next door had his roof replaced and had State Farm. His roof had over nailing like mine but they said this was absolutely wind damage.

Allstate Lies. End of story.

Allstate - Disability Claim Review

i have had a short term policy with all states for nearly 11 years. short term policy is exactly that short term. now that im sick i filed all the proper paperworks only to find out my short insurance company is jerking me around and refuse to pay on my policy. i was counting on my disability payments to cover my bills. i cannot cover my bills due to lack of payments. i am stressed out and outraged that insurance company such as allstate are allowed to treat their customers like that and get away with it! consumer affair, insurance commission, attorney general need to intervene

Roof denied

We were in a windstorm July 14,2016 in Coweta, Ok. Two roof companies said extensive wind damage to roof.

Allstate sent out first adjuster that lied and denied saying no damage by wind, it was over nailed and faulty. Our agent called another that denyed and talking about things he couldn't have known before fully examining roof. (Apparently he read first adjusters report). Our agent and roof man was there that day & -Best roof and Allstate adjuster arguing on roof.

We all couldn't believe what an obvious lie. Even State Farm in Coweta said it was 100 mph winds at their office 3 miles away. We were given name of Public Adjuster who had trouble with Allstate until he said he was going to next level and he would let residents in Wagoner county decide(Lawsuit). This wasn't too appealing to Allstate and the roof went from no damage from wind to a complete roof replacement due to wind.

If Allstate does this to you hire a Bad Faith lawyer for them lies. Public adjusters are great but charge and lawyers can get you much more than price of roof for lies.

Allstate chose to fault me(a customer) rather than the actual at fault driver

I was hit by a speeding driver in Chattanooga. I was in the right lane(4 lane street), had my right turn signal on, about to make a right turn, when I hear a horn blow and I immediately stopped before making the right turn. Then all of a sudden a car passes by on my right side(I'm in the right lane). Just as he's about to make it past me, he cuts to the left, too early, and hits my right front fender. The policeman who responded, gave me a citation for 'cutting in'. I was stopped. I have photos and illustrations of the accident, which I presented to a judge in Chattanooga City Court, and based on that evidence and my explanation, the judge dismissed the case. The same evidence was shown to Allstate(Jeremy Neighbours) in Nashville. He and his supervisor ignored the evidence and my attempt to explain how the accident actually happened. They faulted me, an Allstate customer, while the real at fault guy is still laughing. I paid $1000 deductible and now have a claim against my driving record which has been clean for over 50 Years. So long Allstate.

This complaint is in regards to an automobile accident which occurred on 1-19-2016. In the Police Report it states what Driver#1; which he was dishonest about along with trying to Bribe me with $300.00 dollars cash.

I sent a Preliminary Estimate for the damages that occurred on January 19, 2016; along with the Police Report which they already had in there possession. I received a voice message from my Insurance company AAA representative (Paul) which stated that "Allstate was accepting liability for the accident. I received an email and voicemail from Allstate representative Melissa Gerd stating I needed to come into the office to give a recorded statement. In being knowledgeable of the law insurance companies as Allstate tries to deter from making restitution.

Depending on the statute of an accident are you required to make a statement; yet this was a loop hole to keep from paying out. I could never recommend Allstate as a reputable company to anyone especially after the way I have been handled.

Allstate - Auto Claim Review

An Allstate insured driver was at fault in damaging my car. The Allstate driver admitted fault, but Allstate took 3 weeks to "accept responsibility" while I drove around in a crashed car. Allstate claims adjuster took forever to start the repair process, only approved 4 days in body shop, so rental was only 4 days. A part was on back order so I HAD TO PAY for additional rental car days. My car was damaged 1/26/17. Its 3/9/16, and I'll still being hassled by rental car costs. I have full coverage with Gieco and Gieco was happy to fix my car but I'd have to pay $500 deductible, and possibly have higher rates upon renewal. I'm so frustrated at this point. Allstate is not fair, treats victims like criminals, and Enterprise Rental is also terrible. This is not good business. I'm still waiting for the Allstate check to pay my body shop. Stay away from Allstate!!!

Will not pay for certified shop repairs!!

After being told that all of my auto repairs would be covered, Allstate decided they would not pay for the whole total of my auto repairs because I went through a Mini certified collision repair shop (Fields Collision Center of Orlando). Allstate originally gave me a low-ball estimate when they did the inspection and offered to replace the damaged parts with aftermarket parts and recycled parts which no certified collision repair shops even use. I chose to go through a Mini certified collision repair shop so I know the repairs get done to standards. I now have to come out of pocket $364 when I’m not even the person at fault here. This has been a complete nightmare of an experience dealing with Allstate. Their website states that “Allstate will work to resolve the differences and make any necessary adjustments” but this is not true. This type of practice that Allstate is doing is unethical and is putting consumers at risk. I will be contacting the office of the Attorney General in Florida because this needs to be looked into.

I was involved in an incident with Hurricane Matthew. Allstate provided no customer service no guidance no suggestions not even a simple phone call. I was left to figure out what to do how to do it and where to turn all by myself they offered no help to me whatsoever. If I treated people that way in my job I would be fired. I contacted corporate office they said they would file a complaint. I followed up on complaint still have not received a phone call or any concern from Allstate whatsoever. They obviously do not care about their customers and have broadcasted that message to me very clearly. I want people that choose to have Allstate represent their house or Auto to take warning the customer service is downright pitiful. Being a customer and paying my premiums on time seems to count for nothing. Allstate you need to reevaluate what customer service really means

My name is Hung Tran. I purchased Allstate auto insurance policy thru Tracy Drott, an agency owner located at 12540 Bandera Rd. Ste. 209, Helotes , TX 78023. I have my policy with Allstate for a few years, and I had set up the Autopay system which withdraw from my bank account monthly. Recently I had been moving around a few times and I changed my bank account; therefore, my policy was cancelled. On September 13, 2016, I called Adela who works for Tracy, and sent her my bill to prove of residency and registration of Acura to prove if ownership. I also gave her credit card information to charge for my insurance policy. Evidently Adela forgot to complete writing my auto policy, and I didn't know my auto insurance was cancelled until I called on October 14, 2016 to get a quote for my home insurance. Adela forgot to finished writing my policy caused me to pay extremely high rate on my new policy; it's Adela's fault, and both Tracy and Adela didn't want to resolve the issue. I don't think that is right thing to conduct a business. Please help me? Thank you.

Allstate added drivers that are no relation to me or live with me

i have been with allstate 17 years I go to make my payment one day and realize the payment more than doubled I started looking at my policy and noted they added my ex wifes children to my policy we have been divorced for 10 years and the children are no relation to me have different last names however allstate added them to my policy using my last name when called to get them removed I was given the runaround by my local agents office and was told it must be my fault that allstate must of sent out a survey with them listed and I did not respond and after hours of avoiding my calls and the runaround I changed companies and actually saved money so if your a allstate customer besure to look out for surveys and hope your local agent is more helpful than mine was

Good comment, always review your premium bills. It is ok to switch companies sometimes if needed, but not often if it can be avoided. Sadly, previous divorces can have lasting effects.

After 260 days these thieves finally decided to pay my claim. I hired an International public adjuster within the first week of the claim as Allstate was too busy to send an adjuster to my area. The good news is that the public adjuster ended up netting me 3x Allstate's initial offer. Allstate is happy to remind you that you are under insured and take your $$$ and remind you that your coverage are not up to date when its time to pay the claim. Before you file your next claim, hire a public adjuster as they will work hard to get you a fair settlerment

I don't know if the previous commenter is homeowner or a public adjuster. A public adjuster works for the homeowner and not the insurance company.

Some states allow public adjusters and some do not.

While public adjuster's are sometimes needed and can do good job, before hiring one, make sure you really need one and make them clearly show you what they will charge.

They usually work on percentage of the claim payment, I believe it is usually 10%, but it could be more. Attorney's charge too, their charges start at 25% but could be much higher as well.

PS: if previous commenter is a public adjuster shame on you for not being clearly upfront as to who you are!

Homeowner Rates Raised for Small Claims Made

I have had Allstate home and auto insurance since 2009. Allstate never told me that when you have insurance you should not make a claim on your homeowners insurance, otherwise you would be notified that your insurance rates for your home have gone up over $500.

My claims totals were under $4000. I asked my insurance agent for help. When he contacted the Underwriters they wanted to charge me even more!

Because of this I am having a difficult time finding a new insurance that I can afford.I feel this is unfair and unjust and I am being profiled by my age and where I live. Allstate - the good hands people - NOT

Insurance companies are in business of making money and it appears they are now not making enough off their investments to sustain their high rate of income as in years past. Thus, they will penalize anyone who actually has the temerity to file a claim with them by either raising rates and, if you file three claims, they are likely to not renew your policy at all.

Thus, it is wise to consider home insurance as insurance for those times when disaster strikes---like a fire, tornado, etc.---and your losses are considerable. Not for small dollar claims. While $4k is not insignificant and you were correct to file a claim, the insurance company did what they do---raise your rate.

File another claim and who knows what they will do. It is what it is.

Do not get Allstate Car insuance

Been with them for over 30 years, no wrecks tickets, clean driving. Two of my kids are on my policy and they have clean driving records also. July of 2015 I was paying 185.00 a month. renewal came in August and it went to 321.00 a month. Just got notice for renewal again and going to 491.00 a month. This company is Mayhem on it's consumers. Please please think before you buy. What Allstate has done is wrong and unethical. Contact all people you know to stop them from doing this to people. Thanks I have to have at least 100 words so trying to take that up. So please excuse this rambling

Allstate - Homeowners Policy Claim Review

Water damage from water heater. Water heater was replaced but water caused damages to my walls and floors. The mitigation company sent to my home by Allstate, drilled holes in my walls and recommended that my living room area be painted. Supposedly the mitigation company forwarded its recommendations to Allstate. Also, the holes need to be re patched. A claim was forwarded to Allstate for processing. Allstate refuses to honor the claim because they feel that my deductible can take care of it. The cost to repair and paint is $650, my deductible is $500. They are carrying me through all phases of scrutiny over $150. They are using every excuse possible to not pay $150... This is a shame. I have been with Allstate over 30 years and I guess this is what is meant by, "You are in good hands with Allstate." Darn shame!!!!.

Don't give up...Tired of contractors and insurance companies taking advantage of us and keeping our hard earned money even though we paid for services.

It is hard to tell everything that happened on your claim from what you describe, but it appears that you are only getting $150. However, you mitigation company charged money as well, and were probably paid directly.

So, Allstate has written an estimate for repairs for $650.00, so they are applying the $500.00 deductible towards the those repairs.= a.00nd offering to pay you $150.

You may want to get a few estimates and make sure all of the repairs needed are figured.

Also, you may be better served to getting estimates from contractor's who use the same or similar estimating programs as Allstate. If there are drywall repairs needed, base trim reset or replaced, and painting or more, $650.00 won't go too far.
