I switched to Allstate insurance because they offered a cheaper rate. Since I made the switch about two weeks ago, I have since found out they fired the agent who set up everything for me with them. I am now receiving calls from one of their other agents claiming that underwriting is requesting a copy of a letter I already sent that agent proving that an accident about a year ago wasn't my fault because apparently it's showing up to them as myself being at fault. The former agent already got the letter and set up everything and ive started making payments. Calling them hasn't gotten any responses. They are giving me the run around.

Claims Investigators

My name is Brandy. I have been a customer of Allstate for quite sometime and loved the company. I pay my account as I am suppose to and had no idea when In my time of need and despair I would be treated so unfairly by Allstate. I have 4 children one whom has a Traumatic Brain Injury and home has been turned upside down. This matter saddens me that I am at a point where I have to take my concerns this far. I reported a Property Claim (Renters) on August 1, 2018. I have gone back and forth with a person name Mr. Pleasant with claims investigations about completing my claim. He originally asked me to verify my whereabouts, he stated that he called the Avenue Hotel and information was given to him by a worker who no longer works at the hotel, I don't know what exactly was said to him because I was not aware of the phone call with him, that phone call he placed to the hotel was placed without my knowledge. Upon making several attempts to contact him and his Supervisor Mr. Donald Williams for 2 days we received a call back from the supervisor Tuesday August 21 and it was explained to him that Mr. Pleasant wanted me to verify my whereabouts and I asked his supervisor Mr. Donald would calling on a conference call to the Hotel be sufficient to prove my whereabouts, Donald stated yes that would be suffice. Upon talking to Mr.Pleasant on August 22 stating that there was a call to Mr. Donald and he stated that calling on a conference call to the Hotel would be sufficient to prove my whereabouts Mr. Pleasant also agreed that that would be sufficient . The call was placed on August 24 on a recorded conference call with him on the line and on the recorded phone call the Supervisor of the Hotel in Los Angeles verified my whereabouts at the time which then verified my whereabouts. I am baffled at the fact that I have been calling him and his Supervisor since Wednesday evening August 29 and have not gotten a call back until yesterday September 4. As of today September 5, 2018 my claim has not yet been approved when his Supervisor Donald Williams as well as himself Mr. Pleasant stated that the conference call would be suffice the hotel verified my stay which they did. After my whereabouts were verified he moved on now to something else. He asked about the flight and I am baffled to the fact of him asking how I got to the Hotel in LA which has no bearings on my claim on how I got there as long as my whereabouts were verified which the Hotel has already verified to him my whereabouts. I was asking that my claim be approved based on the information provided by the hotel supervisor verifying my whereabouts. I am not getting any returned phone calls from either of them until at least 2-3 days later or until I call my agent to see what’s going on. are your supervisor My agent Brent Rotto whom I informed about this situation and said that I would be cancelling my insurance because I have never in all my life been treated this way and due to me feeling targeted against and treated very harsh and the unprofessionalism that I am experiencing with Allstate, Brent stated that he would try and call Mr. Pleasant and his supervisor Donald to try and rectify the matter before I cancel and he also experienced the no return phone calls for 2 days. He said he understood my frustration and didn’t understand why I was going thru all this trouble to get a claim approved.

Need to use a PC not a phone or tablet. I was having the same issue and was getting pissed.

I googled the problem and found this site, then thought to try to log onto myallstate.com on the PC and do it form there.

Had no problems... well can say no problems once I get my reward items, but the ordering was very easy and it allowed me to redeem my cash accumulated so I did not have to come out of pocket for anything.

Total Loss Claim - Not Paid in Full - due to small stain

An Allstate Policy holder totaled my car end of May. Due to texting and driving. My son was in the car with me, and the young lady just rammed into my back of my car. The care was totaled. I did everything I had to do. Contact Gap, Contact the Dealer, Contact the Car Insurance. The communication efforts the assigned Adjuster was scarce. It took days to return phone calls, and most of my Emails got ignored. We are in September now, I was under the impression that everything was taken care off because I havn't heard from anyone. My bank sends me a letter that $160 are still outstanding. I called the GAP insurance, they say ALL state didn't pay the remaining balance. I call the Adjuster, he's saying it didn't get paid because of a small discoloration on the passenger seat. That makes no sense to me, because the car was totaled - and a small discoloration can't be worth $160. I'm like ok - and he says for me to go back to the GAP insurance and see if they pay it. So I call Gap again they say NO, its Allstates bill who needs to pay it. I call the Adjuster again and I'm loosing it. You have to understand 2 weeks before the car accident which was caused by reckless driving of an Allstate policy holder i had a massive heart attack! I am a single 35 year old mother of two. Now I have to deal with this incompetence - Email back and forth - phone calls here and there for Allstate to tell me 4 months later they didn't pay something because of a small stain! Seriously! i got PTSD from the accident seeing my son being involved. Seeing this lady just ramming into my car. This is too much. I called the Adjuster 2 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago he said that he would escalate this to his boss to see if they can pay off the loan. Haven't heard anything from him yet! After balling my eyes out and pouring my heart out. Nothing! He dindn't answer to my last Email either where i send him a copy of the bank paper that the money is still outstanding. I did not cause the accident. I should not have to pay for this.

Not worth the a ***

Our home was broken into on December 24 upon signing up with Allstate we were told we were covered under our homeowners insurance on everything but they neglect to tell you they put a cap on stuff. My toolbox and tools were in my basement of our house estimated value $69,500 so I call Allstate and all I got out of them was we’re so sorry! All we can pay is $10,000 towards tools what a crock of *** I told the lady on the other in my toolbox is almost $16,500 just by itself and all she could say was sorry my words to her were all have a new insurance company by the end of the week. I would never recommend this company to anyone except my worst enemy.

Terrible people, rip off and this has nothing to do with a claim!!

Have had Allstate for almost 15 years, homeowners, 3 trucks, a Tahoe and a van. Every time I call the office it takes 3 calls to get something right, billed me for homeowners and the bank it held in escrow? I do not like to shop or change so my insurance and cell phone companies stay the same for a long time. My monthly bill from Allstate jumped to 457.67 after adding another truck. I checked with a friend who quoted and started our new Policy for almost $300.00 less PER MONTH, same coverage. Now your thinking something was wrong, so was I, thought maybe the money deducted from my account was for 6 months from Allstate, nope. Now your thinking accidents, tickets, credit score....Nope, nope and both credit scores are over 790. Once I saw the large bill I got the new insurance and cancelled, out of 457.67 I got a $16.48 refund?? They said I pay on the 15th for the current month, how is this possible when they have to have payment prior to starting coverage. When I get new insurance they do not say aw just pay us in a couple weeks?? They also issued insurance on our houseboat, two weeks later got a letter saying they do not cover houseboats? Got houseboat covered elsewhere but never got a refund of the $365.00 payment for the year??

They accessed my bank account without authorization

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I paid Allstate for car insurance ($817.72) for an entire year by check, hand delivered on July 3, 2018. Stacey (at Allstate) used my bank account number to access my account, without my permission or knowledge, to take $600. I complained to BMO Harris (my bank) who advised they would not do anything. I consider this action by Allstate to be bank fraud. I have since closed my account at BMO Harris. Allstate subsequently returned the money to my account, after numerous complaints. I got my car insurance elsewhere, but Allstate advised that I still owed them $600, and have sent it to collections. I don’t think I have ever had car insurance with Allstate, do not have car insurance with them now, and will never have insurance with them in the future.

Bad customer service on their 1-80*-255-****

Called on 1-24-19 had a bad experience with Linda-customer rep. She hung up on me, I called a second time and reported her. I asked to talk to supervisor and was told they were all in meetings all day. Was told my message would be given to one tomorrow. I told them I was going to cancel my policy unless my complaint was heard and handled appropriately.

Terrible experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Had the worst experience with Allstate home police a end their customer service.

Insured my house with Susan Dever from Brian Strode Agency in Canton IL. Suzan was ok. Little slow and forgetful, but had the best rate around so I went with her and Allstate.

I agreed to pay $813 per year ( august 2017) and I paid that in one lump some electronically and singed up for automatic renewal in order to get the best rate.

9 months later ( may 2018) I looked at my policy to check when is the next renewal day due and see that I got charged additional $86 on 12/2017. 3 months after signing my policy and paying in full. ???????

Let me just point out that I have never approved that $86 deduction from my account. I have never been notified of that deduction or policy changes at all. They had access to my account so they just took the $86 . They had no right or my approval. That is plain old STEALING.

Allstate steals and cheat. I will never insure with them again and I advised my coworkers and neighbors to do the same.

I have never received a call or email or anything at all to notify me of the rate change. When I pointed that out ( Suzan Dever) I was told a notification was sent to my old address. (why they sent notification to my old address is a mystery to me, when I insured my house with them as my only and main residence)

On top of that the address Allstate had on file was incorrect. I have never lived at that address.

In todays electronic age and day I still cant believe they argue with me stating they notified me by sending a letter to non existent address instead of sending and email or for goodness sake maybe, just maybe.... making a phone call?

Took me 2 weeks of trying to chase Suzan down and I still had no answers, or apologies for that matter.

I escalated the whole thing to Ryan Edwards, CRS385 Customer Resolution Specialist. He was nice at first but as I pushed for answers he became unavailable more and more. For the last few weeks I have been leaving him voice mails and sending email with no success. Today ( 3 months later) I was told I was not getting any apologies or my $86 back. I need to prove first that their appraisal of my property was incorrect.

Basically, he suggested that I get my own appraisal (costs $300) to challenge their appraisal. Then …. maybe then …... I will get my $86 back.

How stupid is that?

Allstate did not insure me correctly. They did not give me correct rate. They did not notify me of any account charges or additional charges. They stole money from my account and somehow it is my fault and I need to fight it?

Well, they need the $86 more than I do ,obviously, so they can keep it. If they would rather keep $86 then a customer , there is nothing I can do about that. I just hope all the other customers will be worth more that that and they will treat them better.

The hard braking part of drivewise is complete BS...

Guest

me too, i only get 20% and the last time was 17%. i get braking red lines when i do not brake hard, like pulling into my driveway of my property and stop, or stop after pulling off the highway and stopping on my road to get mail.

Doesn't matter what i do i still get dinged for braking ; I drive at the right time of day, do not speed, drive every other day to town.

Still ........... not sure its worth it.

Abuse of power and rule by fear

Extreme poor treatment of employees and unprofessional behaviour of managment. To whom it may concern. There is a real issue at the Hauppauge, AllState branch. Specifically with the department of finance and analytics. The two managers, Adam and Michelle are treating thier employees unfairly, like slaves, and working them through lunch. Making them stay till 7-8 even 10 pm at night with no dinner or any form breaks! The managment there will retaliate and make the employees feel very uncomfortable ALL FOR PERSONAL GAIN! There is NO possiblilty for advancement for these employees unless they move to Chicago so the local managment Adam and Michelle, take advantage of these employees for personal corporate gain. Please send this off to Allstate for abuse of employees!!!!

Last time I had a job like that - I quit. Found a new one.

Better. Owned one. Difficult. If you hate the job and the people, don't bother to try to change any of it.

Find a new job, then give your 2 weeks notice.

(Don't quit first - have something else lined up) Remember - there are creeps, power freaks, mental cases, etc. everywhere.
